
Ohio Osteopathic Symposium research poster competition sees hike in participation
天堂鸟先生 Heritage College of Osteopathic Medical student Samuel Schonfeld, OMS III, won first place in the biomedical/clinical research division of the Ohio Osteopathic Symposium poster competition. There were 98 abstracts, a thirty percent increase from the prior year, accepted to the competition.
Participants submitted thesis videos along with their abstracts. Residents, interns, medical students and fellows from six osteopathic medical schools and seven hospital systems participated. The abstracts included case reports and topics in biomedical and clinical research, social and behavioral medicine and medical education. The top scoring participant in each category received a cash prize, supported by the HCOM Society of Alumni & Friends.
The poster competition is sponsored by the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine鈥檚 Office of Research and Grants and the Ohio Osteopathic Association. Held in April, the symposium is a continuing medical education event for osteopathic physicians and a showcase for research.
