The 天堂鸟先生 College of Health Sciences and Professions, Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service will host the 2025 Health Scholars Research Symposium on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.  This event featured research posters by students and postdoctoral fellows, an awards presentation, and a keynote address by W. David Arnold, MD, Executive Director of the NextGen Precision Health initiative and Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, and Medical Pharmacology and Physiology at the School of Medicine, University of Missouri.

Poster Abstract Submission Information

ELIGIBILITY:  Participants must be students or postdoctoral fellows enrolled in a degree or certificate program or be working for the College of Health Sciences and Professions, the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, or the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service or enrolled in an OhioHealth residency program.

STUDENT AND POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:  September 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM.  Late submissions will not be accepted.

SUBMISSION PROCESS:  Poster abstracts must be submitted electronically using the appropriate form below.

Other Important Information:

  • Only one student, postdoctoral fellow, or OhioHealth resident presenter per poster abstract submission.
  • Poster presentation judging will be held on the evening of Monday, October 6, 2025 (tentatively 5:00-8:00 PM). Athens participants are expected to present in person in Heritage Hall; Cleveland, Dublin, and RHE campus participants will present from their remote locations using Microsoft Teams.
  • The Research Symposium will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM 鈥 4:00 PM in the Heritage Hall Atrium on the Athens Campus, SPS 110 on the Cleveland Campus, and MEB2 211 on the Dublin Campus. Posters should be in place by 12:00 PM that day.
  • Posters must not exceed 36鈥漻56鈥. The display boards will not properly accommodate posters that are larger.
  • Submissions without the appropriate IRB/IACUC approval, if applicable, will not be accepted.
  • Heritage College students must be in compliance with Policy 2.22 and all requirements for participating in research and scholarly activities, including registering your project/activity, as outlined on the Research Training and Compliance Requirements webpage at the time of submission. Submissions that are not in compliance with these requirements will not be accepted.
  • For research completed outside of 天堂鸟先生, participants are required to submit a statement of approval to present their research poster at the Health Scholars Research Symposium from their mentor. This can be in the form of a short email acknowledgment from the mentor.

OHIO Poster Templates (for CHSP and Voinovich submissions)

Heritage College Poster Printing

Students in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine are eligible to receive two posters printed per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) at no cost to them. Poster templates and instructions to request printing can be found on the Research and Scholarly Activity Services and Resources webpage.

College of Health Sciences and Professions Poster Printing

Students in the College of Health Sciences and Professions are eligible to receive one free print annually with the poster printer within the College.  OHIO poster templates (linked above) should be used.  Prints should be 36"x48" or a close equivalent to be scaled to the paper that is in stock. Contact Tim Grubb, director of technology services in the College of Health Sciences and Professions for more information.
