The ΜμΜΓΔρΟΘΙϊ School of Art + Design proudly presents Hillary Gattian’s thesis show, β€œThe Majestic: Interventions 8-11,” at Majestic Galleries, Nelsonville, Feb. 23–March 25, with an opening reception coinciding with Nelsonville’s Final Friday events from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 23. Refreshments will be provided.

Gattian, a California native from the southern coastal community of Ventura, creates installations that form a dialogue about order and simplicity while slowing down time for the viewer and heightening awareness of space and the everyday. She hopes to inspire the viewer to look for an escape from the disorienting, fast-paced and ever-changing world we live in.

Gattian studied architecture while living on the central coast in San Luis Obispo, before pursuing her B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Sonoma State University. She currently resides in The Plains, Ohio where she is completing her M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing while serving as instructor of record for painting and drawing courses in the School of Art + Design at ΜμΜΓΔρΟΘΙϊ.

The opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Majestic Galleries, 20 Public Square, Nelsonville.
