University employee鈥檚 spouse encourages participation in Healthy OHIO

When Kaylee Wilkof participated in Healthy OHIO as a University spouse several years ago, she received test results that both saved and changed her life. As a result of her Healthy OHIO blood work results, her doctor was able to quickly diagnose her with Type 1 Diabetes and support her on a new wellness journey.

鈥淗ealthy OHIO was a lifesaver,鈥 Wilkof says of the program. She encourages others to participate in the biometric health screenings as well, regardless of their perceptions of their own health. 鈥淓ven if you think you鈥檙e healthy, you may not know your cholesterol or blood pressure. Your brain is really powerful and can talk you out of how you鈥檙e feeling, but it鈥檚 important to have a well check鈥lus, it鈥檚 free!鈥

WellWorks, an initiative of the College of Health Sciences and Professions, works to support all eligible employees, spouses and partners to help them participate in the University鈥檚 employee wellness program, Healthy OHIO.

鈥淧articipation in the program is completely voluntary and confidential;鈥 explained Annie Laurie Cadmus, engagement and marketing coordinator for WellWorks. 鈥淓ach eligible employee can earn up to $260 annually and, if they have a spouse/partner enrolled in the medical plan, they鈥檙e eligible for up to $260 annually, too.鈥
