Patton College of Education to host summer Green Project Camp for children

The Patton College of Education’s Stevens Literacy Center is pleased to announce the third annual Green Project Camp for summer 2025. This unique summer program is designed to educate and empower children and youth about environmental conservation and climate change.
“Building on the incredible success of the 2024 Green Project Camp, we're excited to open registration for another summer of discovery,” said Julie Barnhart Francis, director of the Stevens Literacy Center. “Through hands-on activities, field trips, and literacy-based learning, campers will discover the importance of environmental stewardship and how they can make a positive impact.”
Through hands-on activities and immersive experiences, participants will learn about the significance of environmental stewardship and how they can positively impact our planet. Field trips and experiential learning opportunities outside the Stevens Literacy Center will be offered, further enhancing the campers’ understanding of environmental conservation.
This year, the camp has three different sections:
- June 2-13 - Seedlings Camp (ages 7-10)
- June 16-27 - Saplings Camp (ages 11-15)
- July 7-11 - Career Exploration & Digital Storytelling Workshop (ages 11-15)
Campers for the Seedlings Camp and Saplings Camp can register for one or both weeks. Seedlings Camp and Saplings Camp are $500 per camper, or $250 per week. Registration for the Career Exploration & Digital Storytelling Workshop is $300. There is a 10% discount for registered sibling groups.
Learning Boosts and After-Camp Care are optional add-ons for both the Seedlings and Saplings Camps and have a $50 per week additional fee. All camps will take place at the Stevens Literacy Center located in Patton Hall on ’s Athens Campus.
