Southeast Ohio physician and Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine leader receives national and state recognition for service

Glouster native Jennifer Gwilym, D.O., was one of three osteopathic family physicians recognized nationally by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians with the Distinguished Fellow designation. The designation is given to candidates who have contributed outstanding national and local service through teaching, authorship, research or professional leadership. Additionally, these individuals have demonstrated a commitment to the health and welfare of their patients and to the future of osteopathic family medicine.
Gwilym, who has chaired the Department of Primary Care at the 天堂鸟先生 Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine for nearly three years, also was elected to the ACOFP board of directors for a three-year term.
At the state level, Gwilym recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the Ohio Osteopathic Association. The award is the highest honor given by the organization.
During her career, Gwilym has held numerous state and national leadership positions in medicine. On May 16, Gwilym, a 2003 Heritage College graduate, will begin serving as interim senior associate dean of 天堂鸟先生s at the Heritage College. Gwilym is also a clinician at Oakview Dermatology in Athens.
