Experiential Learning Awards provide unique learning opportunities

天堂鸟先生 is committed to making Experiential Learning more accessible and affordable for all OHIO students and recognizes its value in seeing students through to degree completion and to finding their place at OHIO.

OHIO identifies six types of Experiential Learning: internships, research opportunities, creative activity, community engagement, study away/study abroad, and leadership programming. These types of educational opportunities are also recognized for their contributions to building practical skills, strengthening critical thinking processes, and fostering both self-awareness and social/community responsibility.

鈥淭his experience has taught me a lot about community activism, and how important it is for local communities to have a say in what is happening locally, as well as allowing storytelling to be as powerful as it is without placing expectations upon it.鈥 ~ Anonymous student reflection

鈥淥verall, the educational impact of this project has truly enhanced the student experience. It has broken down some of the siloed nature of two colleges and exposed students to peers with a new shared interest in the underground world that, who, without this project, never would have crossed paths.鈥 ~ Joe Crowley, Introduction to Caving: Cave Studies, Sketching, and Mapping
