Blackboard non-academic content scheduled for permanent deletion

Starting this fall at 天堂鸟先生, as part of the Blackboard Retirement activities, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) will permanently delete all manually created content, like test courses and organizations.

This deletion is necessary to reduce OHIO鈥檚 Blackboard storage costs.  

If you have already saved your desired manually created content or do not wish to save content, no additional action is required.

Content deletion schedule

Non-academic content will be deleted according to the schedule below. Member of the OHIO community will receive a reminder communication one month before the deletion date.

How to review Blackboard content

If you would like to review and save content to access later, log into to access your material. 

  • The Blackboard login experience has recently changed. When you visit , select Sign in with third-party account and 天堂鸟先生 to login with your OHIO credentials.
  • If you are the owner of a manually created/non-academic course, you can save individual files from the course or export the entire course. To export the course, review .
  • If you are a member of a non-academic course or organization, your access will be limited to content that has not already been deleted by the course owner.

Retention of academic content

The deletion of non-academic content is a process separate from the retention of academic content created in Blackboard. Review for more details on the archiving and deletion schedule for academic content.
