Dear Bobcat:
Did you know graduation is not automatic? You must for your degree, major, minor, or certificate to be awarded, even if you are not planning to participate in a commencement ceremony. The OHIO graduation application has been updated with a fresh new design beginning Summer Semester 2024-25 (all sessions) is available in the The deadline to apply is Monday, July 14, 2025, for all degrees, majors, minors, and certificates.
If you plan to graduate this summer semester, please apply for graduation as soon as possible. If you do not apply by Monday, July 14, but still need to graduate, your application will be charged a $100.00 late application for graduation fine. Alternatively, you have the option to apply next semester and not be charged the $100.00 late fine.
Graduation application fees will be charged to your student account after the successful submission of your application. You may pay fees through your . Payment is not required at the time of application, but failure to pay any fees assessed to your account could create delays in receiving your diploma.

Once you have successfully applied for graduation, you will receive a confirmation via email. If you have already received an email with your confirmation, your application is complete. Note: There is no summer commencement. Students are invited to attend the fall ceremony on December 13, 2025.

- Sign in to
- Click on "other academic..."
- Choose "Apply for Graduation OHIO.鈥
- You will be taken to the graduation application. Note: If the graduation application does not open, please check your browser for popup blockers. You might need to allow this site to be opened.
- Respond to the questions and complete the fields in the application. Click 鈥淪ave and continue鈥 to progress through the application. Your application is not complete until you have clicked 鈥淐omplete Application鈥 on the page that summarizes all your application details. This will finalize your application, and you will not be able to make any changes after this step. Once you complete the application, any changes must be made by sending an email to graduation@ohio.edu or by calling 740.593.4196.
- Within the application you may optionally 鈥淪ave鈥 your application prior to completing it. For example, if you don鈥檛 have time to complete it at once or need to gather information prior to finalizing you can logout after you have clicked one of the 鈥淪ave and continue鈥 buttons. Your application will be saved, and you will be able to log on before the deadline to complete the other items and finalize your application by clicking 鈥淐omplete Application.鈥 If you have initiated but did not complete the application process, you will receive an email a few days before the application deadline reminding you to finalize your application. If you don鈥檛 finalize your application by clicking 鈥淐omplete Application,鈥 you will not be considered for graduation, and your name will not appear in the commencement program. A graduation application fee will be charged, for each degree, to your student account once you complete your application. Application fees can be found on the Graduation Application webpage. This applies to any graduate student, medical student, or undergraduate non-OHIO guarantee student.
