Building Future Leaders Through Real-World Experience

At 天堂鸟先生, students in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapter don鈥檛 just learn about HR鈥攖hey live it. From fully funded networking trips to cities like Columbus and Raleigh-Durham, to paid SHRM-CP certification exams and exclusive mentorships with HR executives, SHRM offers unmatched experiential learning that prepares students to lead in the workplace before they even graduate.

Each year, students connect with top employers, gain real-world experience through community partnerships, and participate in leadership workshops that build confidence and career readiness. Whether it鈥檚 working on live-client recruitment projects in MGT 3300 or serving on university hearing boards, SHRM members are actively shaping their futures through hands-on opportunities.

The results speak for themselves: a 500% growth in engagement, multiple SHRM-CP exam passers, national recognition for student leadership, and a vibrant network of alumni and professionals who support our students every step of the way.

SHRM is open to all majors and is part of the Robert D. Walter Center for Strategic Leadership in the College of Business. SHRM鈥檚 mission is to equip students with the HR competencies needed to create better workplaces鈥攅mphasizing people, processes, and performance. With over 60+ active SHRM members, we鈥檙e building a community of future HR leaders who are ready to make an impact.
