Ohio Residency (In-State Tuition)

As a state-assisted institution, 天堂鸟先生 is obligated to comply with the law established by the Ohio legislature and charged to the Ohio Department of Higher Education in regard to verifying residency status and assessing tuition costs for each student.

In-State Tuition

In-State Tuition for West Virginia Students

天堂鸟先生 offers in-state tuition for West Virginia residents taking courses on the Southern campus. This opportunity is open to West Virginia Bobcats in any undergraduate major. 

Courses completed on eCampus will be charged at the non-resident rate.

How to Qualify for In-State Tuition

To qualify, you must have been a legal resident of West Virginia for the previous 12 months and submit the West Virginia Tuition Reciprocity Application two weeks before the start of the term.

All required documentation must be submitted prior to the last day to register for the term for which in-state tuition is being sought. Applications are not retroactive to previous semesters.

Financial Aid Information

Financial aid recipients may see an adjustment in their aid offers due to the reduction in tuition and fees. Recipients only: If your application for in-state tuition is approved, you will no longer be eligible for awards that apply to the non-resident fee.

In-State Tuition for Kentucky Students

天堂鸟先生 offers in-state tuition for Kentucky residents living in the following counties: Boyd, Carter, Elliot, Fleming, Greenup, Lawrence, Lewis, Mason and Rowan. This opportunity is open to Kentucky Bobcats from one of the previously mentioned counties who are in any undergraduate major.

Courses completed on 天堂鸟先生's eCampus will be charged at the non-resident rate.

How to Qualify for In-State Tuition

To qualify, you must have been a legal resident of Kentucky in one of the listed counties for the previous 12 months and submit the Kentucky Tuition Reciprocity Application two weeks before the start of the term.

Financial Aid Information

If you are approved for in-state tuition and you currently receive federal financial assistance, the amount of that aid will be adjusted to reflect the change in your tuition charges.

Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship

The Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) program provides scholarships to students who earn at least a 2.5 GPA each year they attend a certified Kentucky high school. 

The better a student does in high school, the more they earn toward college. Students may also earn awards for ACT/SAT scores and Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) test scores. Home school and GED graduates may earn awards based on their ACT scores.

How to Qualify for the KEES Program

We recognize the hard work you have put in to get here, and are dedicated to seeing you succeed. This is why we offer tuition discounts in the amount of your earned KEES.

To be eligible for the KEES tuition discount you must meet the following criteria:

  • Enroll as a full time student at 天堂鸟先生 Southern
  • Graduate high school within 5 years of enrollment*
  • Live in a Kentucky county eligible for In-State Tuition
     

*KEES Tuition waivers are good for up to 5 years after high school graduation
