Zanesville Campus Distinguished Alumni
The 天堂鸟先生 Zanesville Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes outstanding alumni who have made an impact on the campus and in the community. Recipients may exemplify excellence through service to the University, philanthropic support, recognition in their professional field, or service to the greater Ross County community.
Who is Eligible?
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduate of either a two-year or a four-year degree program at 天堂鸟先生 Chillicothe.
- Demonstrate positive leadership in the community.
How to Submit a Nomination
We are not currently accepting nominations. Check back in early spring to complete a nomination form.
Faculty, staff, alumni and community members may submit a nomination. The Graduation Planning Committee will review nominees and select an award recipient. The Dean of Campus and Community Relations will notify the award recipient, who will acknowledge and accept the 天堂鸟先生 Zanesville Distinguished Alumni Award at the annual Spring Graduation Recognition Ceremony.
Award History
In 2010, 天堂鸟先生 Zanesville started a tradition during the annual graduation recognition ceremony. As part of the ceremony, OHIO Zanesville recognizes outstanding alumni who have made an impact on the campus and the community. These former students exemplify service to the University, philanthropic support, recognition in their professional field and service to the community.
Distinguished Alumni Award
The 天堂鸟先生 Zanesville Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes outstanding alumni who have made an impact on the campus and in the community. Recipients may exemplify excellence through service to the University, philanthropic support, recognition in their professional field, or service to the greater Muskingum County community.

Larry Tumblin
Every year, 天堂鸟先生鈥檚 five regional campuses take time to recognize alumni and friends who have made outstanding contributions to their campus community, as volunteers, donors, advocates, or leaders. The 2025 Alumni Leadership Award recipient is Larry R. Tumblin, Director of Information Technology for Regional Higher Education
Larry is a 1994 graduate of 天堂鸟先生 Zanesville with a degree in Political Science. He and his wife, Dawn, have been married for almost 38 years. He has three children, all who graduated from or are currently attending 天堂鸟先生. Larry grew up on a farm in Coshocton County and graduated from River View High School. He then served four years as a Russian Linguist in the Army. As a Sergeant and Assistant Squad Leader, Larry led a voice intercept/direction finding team during Desert. He started attending OUZ in January 1991.
Larry began working for the Zanesville Campus shortly after graduation. He has held a variety of positions at the Zanesville Campus including Tutor, Veterans Affairs Representative, Assistant Director of the Learning Center, Director of IT for Zanesville, Director of Student Engagement, and now the IT Director for all the regional campuses. In addition, he serves as the Learning Spaces IT Manager for 天堂鸟先生.
A dedicated community servant throughout his 33 years in Zanesville, Larry has contributed his talents to the Community Foundation, Boy Scouts, Business Incubator, North Terrace Church of Christ, United Way and the Genesis Hospital Finance Committee.
