Community Education Workshops

ÌìÌÃÄñÏÈÉú Eastern’s Community Education Workshops offer fun, hands-on classes open to the general public regardless of educational backgrounds. These non-credit workshops are held year-round and cover a wide range of creative and practical topics. Affordable and accessible, the workshops foster personal enrichment and community engagement.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Writing Contest

Hosted annually by OHIO Eastern, the Martin Luther King Jr. Writing Contest invites students in grades 6–12 to reflect on the legacy, values, and vision of Dr. King. This event encourages thoughtful writing and critical thinking, offering students a platform to express their voices and celebrate the ideals of equality, justice, and service. Winning entries are recognized at a special event hosted on campus.

  • Non-Degree & Workforce Success


    Non-degree status allows you to take a limited number of courses without admission to a formal academic program. Explore options such as real estate pre-licensure courses and legal studies, complete online courses to meet required CEUs, or learn a new subject through noncredit courses.

  • Coordinating Council


    The OHIO Eastern Coordinating Council is made up of appointed community members who meet with University officials throughout the year to share information, ideas and viewpoints. 

  • Community Connections Podcast


    Launched in 2024, the Community Connections Podcast shares inspiring stories, local initiatives, and the people who drive the region forward. By celebrating and elevating local voices, the podcast fosters connection throughout the Ohio Valley.

Both university-affiliated and public requests are welcome and reviewed case-by-case.
